Why is it raining?

It was the first day of our social engagement program, we prayed hard that it would be a good weather day. And yes, it turned out to be a rainy day. J However, thanks to that, we got to have our breakfast at the local food stall. The food definitely lighted up our mood and gave us strength to go through the tiring day.

Pardon me? How to read this?

The weather turned well after we have our breakfast, and it was time for us to start our mission. First of all, we were paired up and been distributed with an area to carry out our survey, which is to ask the residents for information on their houses. It sounds easy but walking under the hot sun for a day was tiring.

Freaking hot sun.

The process was both physically and mentally tiring as most of the residents do not want to cooperate with us. Even after we declared our identity and purpose, they refused to answer our questions. Some even rejected us fiercely. It hurts us so much like how the scorching sun hurts out skin.

She is a genius today!

Luckily, I have a genius partner who knows two kinds of dialect. Hahahahaha! Her talent does help a lot as there are a few of the local residents who only know how to speak dialect. Also, there were friendly residents who were willing to answer our questions and treat us nicely. Thanks to them letting us seek back hope in humanity.

Finally, we finished our first round of survey at the afternoon. We felt so hot and tiring that we walked even further for dessert and lunch. When we have the first bite of dessert, it was the best moment of the day. After resting for a long time, we continued with the second round of survey. This time, it was easier as the weather had got cooler and we were more familiar with the process.

Not long later, we received call from our coursemate saying that everyone have done their part and was gathering at meeting point. Hence, we quickly ended our half-done survey and went to gather with them. This is the story of the first day of social engagement program. I personally believe that the other days will be better, with hot sun, fierce dog and unfriendly people. Hmmm, am not being bad to say that the residents are unfriendly but in this case they really did treat us in an unfriendly way.
